The Company Insights tab is a one-page view of key financial metric performance; industry goals & strategies; industry trends, drivers & disruptors; and performance improvement opportunities along with a brief company profile and downloadable reports. See more detail about each section the following pages.
Note that there are filters at the top of the page that will allow you to edit whether you see annual or latest twelve months data, the buyer or business function, the peers (competitors) and the currency displayed (default is the company’s domicile currency).
Business Performance Highlights for publicly traded companies* includes three graphs: one showing the five-year historical trend for the company, one for a five-year competitive comparison, and one illustrating the five-year industry comparison. Below each graph is a text description of performance and the value of the gap – or what the company would have in increased cash flow if they could improve to either their best-performing year, their best performing competitor, or the industry first quartile.
Business Performance Highlights for privately held companies includes two graphs: one showing the five-year industry performance for the first quartile, median, and fourth quartile; the other shows the top four competitors in the industry. Below each graph is a text description of performance. Note that when you select a privately held company, you’ll also need to select the estimated revenue range for the company, which will drive the values you see on these graphs (smaller companies in a given industry will likely look different than larger companies).
Business Goals and Strategies include two key areas – Industry Goals & Strategies and Executive Compensation. Industry Goals & Strategies are common to the industry and can be used to help identify ways in which your solutions can aid in executing a company’s strategic plan. It’s helpful to be aware of executive compensation KPIs and structure as a way to understand executive decision making. Note that the executive compensation KPIs shown are common to the industry, but for U.S.-based companies only, you’ll be provided a link to the company’s definitive proxy statement which will provide more detail on the specific KPIs that the company’s executives are incentivized to improve.
Industry Trends, Drivers and Inhibitors provides qualitative information on four key areas to help you gain a deeper understanding and broader perspective of an industry. External / Macro Factors are those things potentially affecting a company’s performance that they don’t have control over. Business Model / Internal Factors are things that a company has control over and can change if they’re causing an adverse impact to performance. Market Disruptors and Trends are trends that are causing companies in the industry to have to change the way they do things. Finally, Risks are those things that most companies in the industry experience and need to be prepared for.
Performance Improvement Opportunities provides insight into which operational KPIs would have the biggest impact on each of the key industry financial metrics. Shown is the cash flow or profit) benefit to a 1% improvement in each of the KPIs.
The Business Profile provides a business description, industry description, global & regional ranking by revenue size, and business & geographic segment information.
In the Reports section you’ll find the standard downloadable ClientIQ PDF reports under Company Reports and Industry Reports. Recent Company Filings provides the most recent annual and quarterly reports along with recent investor presentations published by the company. Additional Industry Insights offers business process maps and industry blueprints for the industry in which the company operates. The Company Presentation is a ten-slide downloadable PowerPoint summarizing financial performance and the potential for operational KPI improvement.
